I use to steer clear of this fully cooked bacon at stores because I felt like you didn’t get quite enough bacon for the price tag. But then I tried it once and realized that I think I actually save money buying it because I can pull out just what I need for a dish and not have to cook up a whole pound of bacon every time I need some. I am also pretty sure that I have saved myself a few calories since there isn’t a whole pan of yummy smelling bacon in front of me tempting me to eat 2 slices of bacon for every one that I use in my recipe.
I also use crumbled real bacon pieces quite a bit too for the same reasons. My favorite way to use the crumbled variety is with scrambled eggs. We still get the bacon with our meal but don’t have to hassle with the actual cooking of the bacon.
